David W. Covey - Associate

David Covey practices in the area of corporate and commercial law, including the purchase and sale of businesses, as well as conveyancing, wills and estates, and economic and development matters related to First Nations.

David began his legal career in Alberta, commencing with a general practice which gave him exposure to most areas of law including significant work in First Nations and Metis Law as well as court appearances before every level of court in Alberta. In recent years David has focused his practice more specifically on solicitor's work in the areas noted above.

David holds a B.A. (special) (University of Alberta) and a Bachelor of Laws degree (University of Alberta). He was called to the Bar of Alberta in 1984 and to the Bar of British Columbia in 1991.

Always family and community oriented, David has served as a Board member for Planned Parenthood Society, B.C. Parents in Crisis Society, Creative Employment Access Society, the Gyro Club of Nanaimo and the Central Vancouver Island Boys & Girls Club. David is currently serving on the boards of the Nanaimo City Centre Association and the Vancouver Island Symphony.
