 Jim Vanstone - Associate Counsel
Jim Vanstone conducts a general civil litigation practice with an emphasis on personal injury law. Jim's extensive trial experience includes conduct of a number of jury trials. He has appeared on numerous occasions in the British Columbia Court of Appeal in addition to his regular appearances in B.C. Supreme Court.
Jim obtained a Bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia. Following service as an officer in the Canadian Navy he obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta. He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1980. Jim is a founding member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia and has sat as a member of its Board of Governors for many years in addition to serving on the executive and as a member of several of the Association's committees. He is also a past Provincial Council member of the Canadian Bar Association, and Past President of the Nanaimo County Bar Association. Jim is also active in the community, having served as a Director of the Nanaimo Harbourfront Theatre Society and Chair of its Membership Committee. He is also a member of the Malaspina Choir.
