 Sonya Parkin - Associate
Sonya Parkin practices in the areas of Family Law, Personal Injury, Wills and Estates, Real Estate and Civil
Litigation. She has a specific interest in the legal issues concerning individuals and families and believes
in a client-centred approach to solving legal problems. She has an interest in alternative dispute
resolution and mediation.
Sonya studied at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa where she obtained BA(Law) and LLB degrees. After completing her articles she worked for a large financial services company in South Africa and obtained experience in wills and estate planning, financial services regulation and pension law. She was awarded her Canadian National Committee on Accreditation Certificate of Qualification in 2009 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2010. She has represented clients in the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia. Sonya is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Trial Lawyers Association of BC. She is also a member of a number of community organizations and is an enthusiastic member of the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra.
